Does Stanford have good professors?
Stanford has amazing faculty who draw students from all over the world. Faculty can introduce you to new ideas, get you involved in research, and open doors for you that you never would have discovered on your own. The best way to make the most of your university education is to form close connections with faculty. While Stanford, Duke, and MIT are all clearly prestigious schools with high national rankings and low selectivity rates comparable to those of Ivy League schools, they are not Ivy League schools simply because they are not members of the Ivy League. 1. Referring to the aforementioned US NEWS 2021 rankings, Stanford ranks as the 6th best national school in the U.S. Cornell University, which is an IVY league school, ranks far worse at number 18. The same is true for Brown, Dartmouth and Upenn, which rank 14, 13 and 8, respectively. The best Ivy League school in 2022 is Harvard, followed by Princeton and Yale based on this ranking method. The most notable changes in rankings compared to last year is Columbia dropping below Princeton, U Penn and Yale. Stanford University is considered among the top 5 universities of the world while New York University ranks within top 50 as per QS WUR 2022. Schools like Stanford, MIT, and the University of Chicago often outrank Ivies in terms of academics. However, since they aren’t in the same athletic conference, they technically aren’t Ivy League schools. In terms of undergraduate enrollment and number of schools and colleges, Harvard’s got MIT beat. Whereas MIT has 4,638 undergrads, Harvard has slightly more at 7,153. As for total enrollment (undergrads and graduate students), MIT has less than 12,000 students compared to Harvard’s slightly under 22,000 students.
