Hard skills are measurable technical skills, which are the ones students primarily focus on. These skills include drawing from life, drawing from reference, challenging yourself, not overcomplicating your work. Students learn four fundamental drawing skills – shape/edge, measurement, light (value), and space (perspective) – and overcome doubts about their ability to draw with accuracy and confidence. Yes, anyone can learn to draw. You may think you have no talent but others may well appreciate what you draw. A natural talent may make the learning process easier, but drawing is as much of a skill as a talent. As with any other skill, this can be learned.
