Treatment focuses on lowering increased intracranial pressure around the brain. Moreover, elevated ICP can cause secondary brain ischemia through decreased cerebral perfusion and blood flow, brain tissue hypoxia, and metabolic crisis. As raised ICP progresses, a person may lose consciousness and go into a coma. The main difference between AAS and ICP is that AAS measures sequentially while ICP measures simultaneously. For each element you analyze in an AAS, the instrument runs the test separately and each hollow cathode lamp emits its light and the absorption is measured for a single element in each run. How do you analyze ICP-OES data and what does it tell you? General guidelines for analysis of ICP-OES data are to look at the intensity of light emitted at particular wavelengths and compare that to calibration data to determine the concentration of atoms that are emitted at that particular wavelength. Intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring is a diagnostic test that helps your doctors determine if high or low cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure is causing your symptoms. The test measures the pressure in your head directly using a small pressure-sensitive probe that is inserted through the skull.
