What is a wellness action plan?
A Wellness Action Plan reminds us what we need to do to stay well at work – whether working from a physical workplace or remotely – and details what we can do to look after our own mental health and wellbeing. The first step in developing your own Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) is to develop a Wellness Toolbox. This is a list of things you have done in the past, or could do, to help yourself stay well, and things you could do to help yourself feel better when you are not doing well. According to research, a person’s wellbeing can be measured against eight dimensions of wellness: physical, spiritual, social, emotional, intellectual, occupations, environmental and financial. Each dimension means something different to everyone. Wellness is commonly viewed as having seven dimensions: mental, physical, social, financial, spiritual, environmental, and vocational. These dimensions are interdependent and influence each other. When one dimension of our well-being is out of balance, the other dimensions are affected.
