What is a CBT Licence?
Compulsory basic training ( CBT ) is a course you usually have to take before you ride a moped or motorcycle on the road. The training makes sure you can ride safely on your own while you practise for your full moped or motorcycle test. CBT is not a test that you pass or fail.
How much does CBT cost?
The usual price of a CBT is around £89-£150. This price should include a full day of training, your CBT certificate, hire of moped/motorcycle, hire of helmet, gloves and waterproofs. Your CBT will be carried out among small class sizes so the instructors can focus more on progressing your ability.
How to pass CBT test?
- Self-belief. Confidence, self-belief and a positive attitude will start your day right.
- Time to Invest. Familiarizing yourself with the highway code, techniques and procedures ahead of the day will be imperative to your learning.
- Relax. Take each part in your stride.
How long is CBT valid for?
CBT certificates Once you have passed CBT you’ll be issued with a certificate valid for two years. This will allow you to ride legally on the road unaccompanied (except for categories A2 and A). You must produce your CBT certificate within seven days if requested to do so by the PSNI or an enforcement officer.
Is a CBT free?
You can get talking therapies, including CBT, on the NHS. You can refer yourself directly to an NHS talking therapies service without a referral from a GP. Or your GP can refer you if you prefer. If you can afford it, you can choose to pay for your therapy privately.
