Chris Hemsworth is taking a break from acting after discovering his high Alzheimer’s risk. In a new message on Cameo (per TVLine), the actor indicates that he chose to leave for mental health related reasons; not only that, but he may be moving away from acting altogether: “It’s been a tough few weeks, as you might imagine, with everything going on with the show … Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, best known for his role as Thor in the Marvel Universe, revealed he is at increased risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease due to a genetic predisposition. Hemsworth learned this while filming a new National Geographic series, Limitless. In 2017, after years of his brushing it off as just a bit of memory loss, he was finally diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. What had been stored in his head for all to experience and appreciate had seemingly disappeared into the ether, never to be seen again.
