Thin, thick, and deep questions: what are they?
Thin questions are brief, tightly-worded inquiries that can be resolved in one or two sentences. Answers might be given explicitly in the text or be obvious truths that don’t call for much thought. Thick questions, on the other hand, demand a higher level of comprehension and encourage students to exercise critical thinking. What is today’s temperature?

A question that demands is considered thick. It does. Involved, complex, and open-ended questions receive thick answers. Open-ended queries that give the respondent the power to choose their own course of action are powerful. They open doors and foster exploration, in-depth comprehension, and fresh perspectives. In their quest to promote learning and connection, they are inquisitive and nonjudgmental.
