The important thing is that it’s a space for you to be honest with yourself about how you’re doing. Writing is a form of self-care. When I first started writing, I used to write to escape and create worlds unseen by other people. It was an opportunity for raw energy and emotion to flow into tangible words, to build new things amidst everything else going on in my life at the time. Writing clarifies your thinking, allows you to articulate and explain yourself to others, and allows us to work together to build things we could not alone. Expressing your feelings on the things you’ve experienced can be an emotional release in a way that helps makes sense of things instead of holding them in.
