Is Elsevier a medical journal?

Published continuously for over 200 years, NEJM delivers high-quality, peer-reviewed research and interactive clinical content to physicians, educators, researchers, and the global medical community. Both Elsevier and Springer are great publishers with many good journals. Frontiers is also becoming a big giant in the field. From my personal experience, articles of the same quality in Elsevier are usually more cited than in Springer, even when they are both open access.

According to the Scilit ranking, Elsevier is ranked first among publishers by the number of articles published and second among publishers by the number of open access articles published. There are a total of 1460 Elsevier Q1 journals in 2023. The top 60 Q1 Elsevier journals are listed in this blog post. Each subject category of journals is divided into four quartiles: Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4.
