How does it work to read minds?
There are many ways to read minds, but the two most common techniques are to peek at someone’s thoughts as they are being read or to gather information in advance using a phone or tablet. Cold reading, misdirection, forcing information onto a spectator, and sleight of hand. Although it is impossible for humans to actually read the thoughts and feelings of others, they can effectively infer these things through the use of mental models. This is referred to as empathic accuracy, and it entails reading cues communicated by another person’s words, emotions, and body language.
