For what was the AAPA fighting?
At its peak, the AAPA had more than 600 members in New South Wales (NSW), 13 branches, and four subbranches. The AAPA worked to end the practice of separating Aboriginal children from their families as well as for Indigenous rights to citizenship, land ownership, and control over their own affairs. Its objectives were to end political oppression and improve the material circumstances of Aboriginal people. The loss of Aboriginal reserve lands in New South Wales was strongly opposed by members of the AAPA. The area of New South Wales’ Aboriginal reserves decreased from 26,000 acres to just 13,000 acres between 1913 and 1927.
Why did the AAPA come into being?
The American Association of Physician Assistants, later known as the American Academy of PAs, is incorporated. To enhance and widen access to healthcare, the PA profession was established. The lack of primary care doctors was acknowledged by medical professionals and educators in the middle of the 1960s. Eugene A.
