Where to find GoodNotes templates?
To add your own templates: From the Documents screen, tap the Settings icon in the upper-right and select Notebook Templates. Tap the + icon in the upper right to create a new section and give it a name (i.e. “Planning Templates”). If the existing templates within GoodNotes are not quite what you are looking for, GoodNotes 5 gives you the flexibility to import your own custom templates. Every PDF page or image can be added to the GoodNotes template library as a custom cover or paper template. You can add an image from the available templates or click to import a custom notebook cover to GoodNotes. Once you find the cover just click on it to import. Now you can change the position of this file to place it as a cover. Why is GoodNotes 5 free now?
In support of educators and students, GoodNotes is also making the full app free for all educational institutions managing devices via Apple School Manager, with handwriting recognition technology provided courtesy of MyScript. While you can use the free version of GoodNotes for as long as you want, it’s essentially just a free trial that never expires, because you only get three notebooks to use. While both Notability and GoodNotes are phenomenal note-taking apps, when it comes to using them in the classroom, I would recommend Notability. The audio feature makes taking notes in class a great experience, and the versatility of the pages makes it easy to import slides and take notes over the top of them. Since GoodNotes supports infinite levels of folders and subfolders, we rewrote large parts of the app’s code so that information can be found no matter how deeply it is stored in a subfolder. In terms of pricing, we have to give first place to GoodNotes. Not only does it cost less, it also only costs you once. However, it must be said that fifteen dollars per year will not break the bank, so pricing does not disqualify Notability. But, if you want cheap, GoodNotes is the best fit for you. New documents you add in GoodNotes (import or create) will be synced via iCloud and backed up through auto-backup if this is enabled, which can be an additional factor for battery consumption. Changes you make will also be synced via iCloud every 15-30 seconds.
