All that you need is a healthcare professional who, at the very least, ask three questions: Why are you here? What do you think is going on/giving you your symptoms? Person-centred care supports people to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to more effectively manage and make informed decisions about their own health and health care. It is coordinated and tailored to the needs of the individual.

Since person centered therapy is highly dependent upon the nature of the relationship between therapist and client, it is critical that this relationship is characterized by three key qualities. These are unconditional positive regard, genuineness, and empathy.
