What is UGC peer-reviewed journal?
UGC Approved Journals are the medium through which you can publish your articles. University Grant Commission will consider your article as valid only when you submit it in the UGC Approved Journals. Note – Any other private journals which are not included in the 2021 List will not be considered valid. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has said that though publication of research papers in peer-reviewed journals may not be mandatory anymore for Ph. D. What happens if a university is not approved by UGC? It is generally considered that Scopus indexed journals are better than the UGC CARE listed journals. All Scopus indexed and WoS indexed journals are in UGC CARE list but the vice versa is not true. You cannot search journals indexed in Web of Science or Scopus database directly on the UGC-CARE website but separate links to these databases are provided under Group II of the UGC-CARE List.
Is peer-reviewed journal approved by UGC?

Is Scopus journal UGC approved?
Any journal indexed in Web of Science or Scopus database shall be the part of the of UGC-CARE List (Group A). The journals indexed in Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases automatically become part of Group A of the UGC-CARE List.
