Powerful questions are open-ended and give the respondent the freedom to choose the course of action. They open up possibilities and promote research, in-depth comprehension, and fresh perspectives. They want to advance learning and connection, so they are perceptive and nonjudgmental. Open-ended or broad questions: • don’t have a predetermined solution. • necessitate deeper contemplation, investigation, observation, or an opinion. • encourage debate and unconventional thinking. Closed-ended questions are those that can only be answered by choosing from a predetermined set of options.
