What are the congruence methods?
Conditions for Congruence of Triangles: SSS (Side-Side-Side) SAS (Side-Angle-Side) ASA (Angle-Side-Angle) AAS (Angle-Angle-Side) Two triangles are congruent if they satisfy the 5 conditions of congruence. They are side-side-side (SSS), side-angle-side (SAS), angle-side-angle (ASA), angle-angle-side (AAS) and right angle-hypotenuse-side (RHS). Two triangles are congruent if they meet one of the following criteria. : All three pairs of corresponding sides are equal. : Two pairs of corresponding sides and the corresponding angles between them are equal. : Two pairs of corresponding angles and the corresponding sides between them are equal. There are three properties of congruence. They are reflexive property, symmetric property and transitive property. All the three properties are applicable to lines, angles and shapes.
What is the concept of congruence?
Two geometric figures are said to be congruent, or to be in the relation of congruence, if it is possible to superpose one of them on the other so that they coincide throughout. In geometry, two figures or objects are congruent if they have the same shape and size, or if one has the same shape and size as the mirror image of the other. SSA =The SSA condition (Side-Side-Angle) which specifies two sides and a non-included angle (also known as ASS, or Angle-Side-Side) does not by itself prove congruence.
