Kooth is a free, safe and anonymous online wellbeing service for children and young people. Kooth has 2 investors including Innovate UK and SBRI Healthcare . It was founded by Elaine Bousfield, a counsellor, and acquired by Root Capital, a venture fund, in 2015. Kooth employs 300 people, including 165 clinical staff, and has recurring annual revenues of £13 million. We continue to see a growing demand in the public sector for our Kooth Adult service. In 2021 we added 14 new contracts to our roster, with 3.8 million adults now having free access to Kooth nationwide.

Our team of accredited counsellors are here to provide safe and effective support to children and young people. Kooth is an award winning online counselling service helping those aged between 10-18 years old with any troubles they may have. They provide an anonymous and confidential service using a mix of counselling, support and advice on a drop in, out of hours and structured sessions. Kooth is a FREE, safe and anonymous online Mental Wellbeing Community for young people. Kooth is anonymous and free at the point of use. Online counselling is available to users through instant chat messaging from mid-day until 10pm on weekdays and from 6pm until 10pm at weekends. Self-help materials, messaging, mood tracking and other support features are available anytime. Our suite of applications allows children and young people to choose how they want to access help: Magazines, Forums, Activity Centres, Messaging, Live Counselling. Services are typically offered via email, real-time chat, and video conferencing. Some clients use online counseling in conjunction with traditional psychotherapy, or nutritional counseling. An increasing number of clients are using online counseling as a replacement for office visits.
