Is Hindawi a Scopus journal?

Currently, Hindawi publishing Corporation publishes 180 journals indexed in Scopus. The average Citescore and percentile are 1.94 and 62 respectively; these show the high quality of Hindawi journals that are indexed in both Scopus and PubMed. Both of them have a lot of SCIE indexed journals. I have papers published in these two publishers and found out that MDPI has faster publishing process after the acceptance. On the other hand, Hindawi provides a better presentation of the paper. John Wiley has expanded its presence in the open access field with the acquisition of Hindawi, a London-based scientific research publisher of more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific, technical, and medical journals.

Is Scopus a predatory journal?

The study maps the penetration of so-called “predatory” scholarly journals into the citation database Scopus. Predatory journals exploit the author pays open access model, and conduct only cursory or no peer review, despite claims to the contrary. Publishing an article in a predatory journal affects your reputation as a researcher, and is a waste of your time and effort. Many resources exist on identifying and avoiding predatory publishers. SciVerse Scopus is the world’s largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature and quality web sources. So far there are 21 MDPI journals covered by Scopus, see the attached link for the complete list. Scientific and academic publisher Reed Elsevier released six journals that were found to feature falsified peer reviews. These peer reviews were paid for by pharmaceutical companies, including pharma giant Merck. Elsevier has also been involved in other scandals, including being accused of publishing racist content. The journals included in Scopus are periodically re-evaluated to ensure they meet indexing criteria and some journals might be discontinued for ‘publication concerns’. Previously published articles may remain indexed and can be cited. Dove Press was also originally on the list of predatory publishers but has since been removed. The acceptance rates of all Hindawi journals can be found on one page and range from 6% to 58%. Note: some Hindawi journals have been suspected to be predatory journals, but are now considered borderline.
