Adult Protective Services (APS) programs promote the safety, independence, and quality-of-life for vulnerable adults who are, or are in danger of, being abused, neglected by self or others, or financially exploited, and who are unable to protect themselves. The American Psychological Association, or APA, is the largest organization representing psychologists in the United States, including scientists and practitioners. The Association for Psychological Science, or APS, is dedicated to advancing the science of psychology nationally and in the international community.
