Are Japanese notebooks good?
Although most of us are used to American-made journals of decent quality, the Japanese have undoubtedly created the best journals in terms of both paper quality and format. However, many Japanese stationery companies sell a wide variety of notebooks. In Japan, however, much of the writing in school is done with a pencil. A saying in Japan is that your writing reflects what your heart looks like. Using a pencil makes it easier to erase mistakes – and to provide a flawless handwriting, even if it is not on the first try. As a rule of thumb, a high-quality paper notebook is thick and durable with heavy paper weight. They have less show-through and they can withstand erasing. Students writing on both sides of the paper should prefer lab notebooks with heavier paper. German stationery brand Leuchtturm has been producing paper products of the highest quality for more than 100 years. If you are interested in bullet journaling, writing, planning, or memory keeping, I would highly recommend an Archer & Olive notebook. While they are not at the cheapest price point for notebooks, the quality of paper and cover is worth it, in my opinion.
